Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative is a non-profit organisation which primarily aims at raising environmental awareness through the medium of contemporary art and to challenge perceptions about the realities we live in.

Art to raise awareness

We were commissioned to create an art book that would present to the public the work of international and Greek artists on the subject of waste and waste management. Artists were invited and supported by PCAI in the production as well as in their research on the topic. Art in this case is a vehicle to convey sensitive environmental messages and that was also the purpose of the publication.

Simplicity and vulnerability

The awareness raising purpose of this art book was our number one priority. No decorative or bold design elements were used so that art is the one and only prevalent element in the publication. Using different paper qualities, typography and a black and white palette, we created an art book that showcases the artworks in the best way possible. The exposed binding adds a sense of elegance but also vulnerability just like the environmental messages conveyed through art.
