Zero Point is an experimental theatre group based in Athens.

A poster about painful sharpness (the challenge)

The theatre group commissioned us to create a poster and event brochure for György Kurtág’s Kafka Fragments (original title: Kafka Fragmente), a work presented by the theatre group in spring 2018 in Athens, Greece. Our goal was to create a visual outcome that would encapsulate the highly personal aesthetic of the talented director Savvas Stroumbos and his version of Kafka Fragments by Gyorgy Kurtag.

Creating fragments

​​Inspired by the painful sharpness of Franz Kafka’s writings, Kurtag's “kaleidoscopic web of musical styles”, and the director’s perspective, we created an artwork that conveys the powerful, exceptional and intense experience of this highly complex and critically acclaimed work. By creating actual fragments that are visible on the title of the play, we aimed for a visual outcome of extremity and simplicity just like the different moments in life, one that reveals the distinctiveness of Kafka’s writing.
